A vila de Ferreira do Alentejo está situada numa pequena elevação, rodeada de extensas planícies. O concelho pertence ao distrito de Beja e tem uma área de cerca de 650km2. Em plena região alentejana, enquadrado nas extensas planícies douradas, pertence à sub-região do Baixo Alentejo.
