O mar está no código genético dos lacobrigenses. De fonte de subsistência a caminho das rotas comerciais, o mar passou a ser igualmente sinónimo de praia, turismo e lazer. Mas, Lagos é também campo, agricultura e cultura do vinho. Situado no Barlavento Algarvio, tem 212,99 Km2 de área e 31 049 habitantes. Integra a sub-região do triângulo vicentino, que deu origem à Terras do Infante – Associação de Municípios. Pertence à Região Vitivinícola do Algarve e integra a área geográfica da DOC “Lagos”.
